Greetings to God's Beloved! I am Rev. Keisha R. Dukes, MDiv, Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church. We are "Christ church in the city with a heart of Christ for the city." As a Church in the Nation's capital, we commit ourselves to "doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God." (Micah 6:8). We provide a brave space of grace for all of God's beloved. Join us for worship, Christian education, missions, and outreach initiatives. We are committed to living out John 13:34-35, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this, everyone will know you are my disciples if you love one another." With this dedication of love as disciples of Christ, salvation will be received throughout our land.
Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Keisha R. Dukes, MDiv, is a native of Baltimore, MD. In 2019, she accepted the call into pastoral ministry. Since then, she has served two appointments in the Peninsula Delaware Conference of the United Methodist Church. July 1, 2023, Rev. Dukes was appointed by Bishop Latrelle M. Easterling to begin her appointment as Pastor of Christ UMC in the Baltimore-Washington Conference. Pastoral ministry is one of many accomplishments she has been blessed to experience.
First, she graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity. Secondly, Pastor Dukes was commissioned as a provisional elder in the Peninsula Delaware Conference of the United Methodist Church. Rev. Dukes loves United Methodist theology, in particular Holy Communion. She loves the doctrine that the Lord provides a table where we do not need a reservation. In other words, “show up” and earnestly repent our sins. There is room for all at the Lord’s table!
Aside from her commitment to her ecclesiastical calling, Pastor Dukes loves creative arts. With this passion, she graduated from Morgan State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. In recent years, she has used these creative gifts as a theatre arts teacher and traveled as a faith-based rapper and spoken word artist. Rev. Dukes uses all her gifts for the glory of God and the edification of God’s people.
Along her journey, Rev. Dukes is grateful to live in a marital covenant with her husband, Bro. Brandon Dukes, who serves alongside her in ministry. To God be the Glory!
Lastly, Pastor Dukes loves the Lord’s church and has a heart to serve the people of God. She believes in the words of our resurrected Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who said to his disciples then and still speaks now:
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28: 18-20)
